September 1, 2011
The Civil Administration works collaboratively with the Palestinian Authority, international organizations and various private entities in order to improve services to residents in the West Bank.
The CA Health Office is particularly active since a high priority is placed on health issues, both urgent and long-term. In the case of Baraa Inhabi, a resident of Qalqilya whose complex medical case necessitated lengthy treatment at Hadassah Ein Kerem, the CA worked extensively with her doctors at Qalqilya Hospital and Hadassah, as well as with the PA and private medical companies in order to assist her with long-term care. Additionally, the CA arranged for Qalqilya doctors to receive additional training from Hadassah staff to ensure Baraa’s continued treatments.
In the first half of 2011 alone, the Civil Administration has assisted over 55,000 Palestinian patients receive care at hospitals in Israel and since 2010 the CA has spent over 5 million NIS on urgent Palestinian medical cases.
