Tell Congress: Vote YES for “Iron Dome Support Act”

As we have seen recently, Israel remains under constant threat of missile attacks from Hamas and Islamic Jihad in Gaza, as well as from Hezbollah in Lebanon and from the Iranian regime.

Facing multiple threats with different capabilities, the United States and Israel have been engaged in an effort to develop a joint missile defense program that protects both Israel and America’s interests in the region from this multi-layer threat.

The Iron Dome project is the most recent addition to Israel’s anti-missile defense system. The House of Representatives passed the United States-Israel Rocket and Missile Defense Cooperation and Support Act in 2010, enabling Israel to deploy three Iron Dome batteries.

Understanding that Israel remains under grave threat and frequent attacks, and in an effort to reaffirm America’s commitment to Israel’s qualitative military edge, House Foreign Affairs Committee Ranking Member Howard Berman (D-CA) and Chairman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-FL) recently introduced H.R. 4229, the “Iron Dome Support Act.” This bipartisan legislation would authorize further assistance to Israel for the Iron Dome anti-missile defense system, enabling the State of Israel to widen the range of protection for its citizens and work to secure the entire south of Israel from rocket fire.

Through the passage of this legislation, Congress can once again reaffirm the unbreakable bond between the United States and Israel, as well as America’s steadfast commitment to Israel’s safety and security.

Please consider securing the support of your Representative to cosponsor this legislation.
