Israel’s Painful Concessions Have Begun

The peace agreements with Egypt and Jordan are vital. But they’re not enough. We must also find a way to forge a lasting peace with the Palestinians. Two years ago, I publicly committed to a solution of two states for two peoples: a Palestinian state alongside the Jewish state.

Israel has agreed to release 104 Palestinian prisoners in jail for terrorism actions, including the killing of Israelis.

Speaking about the decision, Prime Minister Netanyahu said, “This moment is not easy for me. It is not easy for the ministers. It is not easy especially for the families, the bereaved families, whose heart I understand. But there are moments in which tough decisions must be made for the good of the country and this is one of those moments.”
