We treat patients regardless of religion, race, nationality and give the best care we can provide. – Dr. Oscar Embon, Ziv Medical Center, Safed. (Israel21c)
You may not realize that a hospital in Northern Israel has now treated 200 wounded Syrians fleeing the civil war in their home country. It’s a remarkable story taking place every day in Israel’s Ziv Medical Center – at a cost of approximately $4 million and counting to the hospital.
“Since the hospital’s founding in Zefat in 1910, it has continually served the diverse community of the Galilee and Golan Heights.
The Ziv Medical Center has several unique characteristics, predominantly giving care to Jews, Christians, Muslims and Druze, religious, secular, from urban and rural areas, soldiers and tourists. It serves as a role model for tolerance and coexistence and a source of pride to all the cultures which make up the employees and patients.”
