A total of 346,104 tourists from around the world arrived in Israel in May 2014, a 22% increase compared to the same period last year and a new all-time high for tourism to Israel.
Between January and May 2014, 1,393,159 tourists from around the world arrived in Israel, a 17% increase compared to the same period last year. The largest number of incoming tourists to Israel came from the U.S. with a total of 72,444 in May 2014, a 32% increase compared to May 2013.
“We are thrilled to see a continual increase in tourism to Israel throughout every month this year,” said Omer Eshel, Consul, Director of the Israel Government Tourist Office, Midwest Region. “Since the dawn of history, travelers have been walking the ancient paths of Israel, making Israel one of the most desirable and unique places to visit. Whether it is a religious tour or a culinary exploration, Israel has something for everyone.”
